Women At Work Australia is a membership organisation offering networking, training and employment opportunities to women and the community.
Networking
Our networking arm is supported by individual and corporate memberships and sponsorships.
In recent years, we have established solid partnerships with such organisations as Westpac, WC Penfold, Fone Zone, The Lotus Institute and Camp Eden.
With their assistance, we have been able to host such innovative events as the four-day Gold Coast International Women's Day Festival, women's employment and training expos and our annual Women At Work Leadership Award.
Women At Work Australia is also well-supported by individual memberships. Our members consist of thousands of women who value the business - and company - of other women.
Our functions - breakfasts, luncheons, dinners - are exciting get-togethers that begin with networking opportunities that quickly turn to friendships.
The Women At Work Australia philosophy of inclusion, and our commitment to the meaningful participate of women in the workforce, has united the aims of our supporters with the commercial heart of the nation's businesses.
Join us - and you too will make a difference for other women!
Training
Women At Work Australia's training component is based on what we call 'the three Cs' - computers, confidence and career advice.
Our research has shown that these are the most probable reasons for women's unemployment or under-employment.
In fact, our most recent study found that the greatest barrier to re-entering the workforce for 77 per cent of Queensland women was computer illiteracy.
Consequently, Women At Work Australia holds ongoing computer training courses for everyone from absolute beginners to those who want to update existing skills.
We also harness the energies of unemployed women to assist us with hosting such events as our five-day Gold Coast International Women's Day Festival, our Women At Work Employment and Training Expos and our annual Women At Work Leadership Award.
The quality of event produced by 13 so-called 'unemployed' women is without exception first-class.
By the time they finish their 12-week Women At Work Australia training course, these women are ready to take on the world - and they do.
Women at Work International has trained over 8000 Gold Coasters.
